Quick Reference

A simple key for reading the objects, positions, movement, and relationships shown throughout Penelope's Page transit charts.

How to Read a Transit Placement

Object What is acting
Sign How or through what field
Degree Where it stands in the process
Motion How the object is moving
Aspect How two objects relate

In a personalized chart, the house adds where the pattern is experienced. A transit is the present sky; a natal placement records the sky at birth.

Planets & Luminaries

The object tells you the primary function or subject being expressed.

Zodiac Signs

The sign describes the qualitative field through which the object operates.

The Foundational Thirteen

Asteroids refine the larger planetary picture by introducing a more specialized archetypal theme.

Aspects

Aspects describe the angular relationship between two placements. The closer an aspect is to its exact angle, the tighter its orb.

Woven Degree Theory

The degree number describes a recurring developmental stage. The same 0°–29° sequence repeats through every zodiac sign.

0°–9° · Formation of the Thread
10°–19° · Formation of the Pattern
20°–29° · Formation of the Tapestry
