Penelope’s Page keeps astronomical observation, documented source material, symbolic correspondence, and interpretive synthesis visibly distinct. They may be woven together, but they are not treated as the same kind of evidence.

Established symbolic associations used within astrological, mythological, and Arcana frameworks.

Penelope’s Page interpretation produced by reading those layers in relationship rather than as isolated facts.
Astronomical Framework
Planetary longitudes on Today’s Threads are calculated in the browser in true ecliptic-of-date coordinates. The asteroid service supplies geocentric apparent ecliptic longitude of date and identifies NASA/JPL Horizons as its source. Live modules show their update state so a failed feed is not mistaken for a current astronomical result.
Aspect Framework
Planet ↔ planet: conjunction/opposition 7°, square/trine 6°, sextile 4°. Sun or Moon may receive one additional degree.
Planet ↔ asteroid: maximum 3°.
Asteroid ↔ asteroid: maximum 2°.
Applying / separating: determined by whether the bodies move closer to or farther from the exact aspect geometry.
Moon Phase Naming
Calendar and live-sky pages use the actual astronomical phase name. “Lunar Rhythm” may be used as interpretive language, but not as a substitute for phase data.
Interpretive Layers
Not every product uses every layer. A live position is an astronomical statement. A mythological or linguistic statement is source-based. A correspondence identifies a symbolic framework. A synthesis is Penelope’s Page’s interpretive reading of the relationships among them.
Arcana Calendar Convention
The public Arcana system uses a tropical geocentric snapshot. Principal planetary sign placement supplies the Major Arcana correspondence; ten-degree decan placement supplies the Minor Arcana correspondence. The Moon is shown separately as context. Cards are mapped from the sky rather than randomly drawn.
